(continued from the article: A Celeb For A Day At KArma By Erwin Gomez Part I )
Erwin Gomez is a nationally renowned celebrity makeup artist known for his mastery in makeup artistry and his ability to turn a drab face into a fab one. His ability to transform the female aesthetic is matched by no other in the area.
“You are beautiful.” he said to me. “I love working on faces like yours. It makes my job easy.”
I blushed like a school-aged girl. It’s not the first time I’ve heard those words. But coming from him, they made me melt.
Gomez looked into my eyes, then onto my freshly treated skin. I notice a wrinkle in his nose then a crooked smile before he said, “Do you mind if I do your eyebrows?”
I would have been a fool to say no. Especially with the caterpillars that were lifelessly laying above my eyes. Erwin is a world-renown master eyebrow sculptor who has corrected the brows of many a celebrity and socialite. So to have him touch my untamed brows was a dream come true.
Effortlessly he applied warm wax to my face. Then the soft cloth strips. Almost painlessly, he pulled my bushes and tweaked them to perfection. Seconds later, my brows looked as if they had been painted on by God.
Never before have my brows ever been so symmetrical; so perfectly framing my eyes. I looked like a different woman.
I wasn’t allowed to stay too long in the mirror. Erwin had more work to do. Next he covered my skin with a sort of fairy dust, better known as his very own Picture Perfect Powder foundation, exclusively made for Erwin Gomez.
“On a scale from 1-10, you are a 12.” He said to me.
Yes, 12 was my perfect shade. And nearly 30 minutes later, I looked back in the mirror and noticed myself, even more beautiful than before.
The foundation left a silky finish on my skin: soft to the touch and perfectly blended.
My eyes were robust with blended blue color and my lips were pouting with the perfect shade of pink. Who can make a woman look this delicious with a simple brush and powder?
I gave Erwin a hug, though he deserved much more, and snapped a few images for Instagram. The world must know about this experience!
I felt like a diamond as I walked back into the lobby. I didn’t want to leave. But my 6pm meeting was waiting for me.
“Just a moment,” someone said to me. “You can’t leave without your bag”.
It was Sab Shad, Karma’s co-owner, with a bag full of the Picture Perfect Powder that made my skin feel like silk and the gloss that turned my lips into edible kisses.
Such a beautiful woman, was Sab. With skin just as vibrant as Erwin’s and a heart even brighter.
I melted again. This place was amazing.
