Here’s the scenario, you’re in a rush to catch your plane, still trying to pack your travel bag with only 2 hours before take-off and a 30 minute drive to the airport. (Story of my life.) Suddenly, the phone rings, stealing your attention away from what matters most right now, your makeup bag. Three hours later, you’re in your hotel room getting ready for an event when suddenly you realize you’ve left half of your makeup essentials at home. There is no time to go shopping, so you have to make it work. But what’s a girl to do?
First of all, relax! There’s no sense in stressing now. It will only make you flushed, causing your skin to change colors or even break out. Next, employ your secret agents. Yup! Every makeup bag has them. Some of your makeup, though advertised as one thing, actually have hidden talents and can serve dual purposes. (Which comes in handy in times like this.) Check the list below to see what I mean.
Product: Eyeshadow Base
Hidden Talent: Lip color base
Eyeshadow base, like the one from NYX, also works well as a lip primer. Just a small swipe across your top and bottom lips will prevent your lip color from smearing, smudging, and fading for hours.
Hidden Talent: Eyeliner
Mascara and eyeliner are actually made from the same formula and work well interchangeably. Just swipe your eyeliner brush along side of the mascara wand and use accordingly. If you’re really in a pinch, thin-out the end of a Q-tip to use as a brush.
Hidden Talent: Eyebrow powder
If you have no time to tame your eyebrows, a simple swipe of eyeshadow along the eyebrow will give them some shape, definition and help to keep them in place. Simply use the same eyeliner brush as before, dap a little into the dark eyeshadow color of your choice and brush along your eyebrows.
Hidden Talent: Blush
A few dabs of red lipstick on your cheekbones will definitely bring some color to your face. Simply blend the color into the apples of your cheeks with warm fingertips. Apply more if necessary.
Do all have makeup that serves dual purposes? If so, let me know!
