If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed that I was in Richmond last weekend for my brothers wedding.
I had so much fun at his wedding. Meeting my new family (I now have four sister-in-laws!), connecting with old family, dancing the night away and eating a mountain of food made the whole experience one of the best in my life!
But with all the crazy, hectic things going on BEFORE the wedding even began, I completely forgot to do one simple thing…get my nails done.
So imaging how lucky I felt, when just two days before I was scheduled to head down to Richmond, I received an invitation to the Grand Reopening of the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa in Chevy Chase [5225 Wisconsin Ave NW].
To be perfectly honest, I had never visited this location before so I didn’t really know what to expect when I got there. I have visited the Red Door Spa of Pentagon Row, which is nice. But it didn’t impress me enough to run back to VA every month.
But upon entering the newly renovated Chevy Chase location, I knew instantly that I would come back quite frequently. The entire spa was straight up fabulous! From the semi-spiral staircase to the marble floors and the chic black and white decor, I was completely in love. I was also enamored with the images of the Elizabeth Arden girl and her friends that hung above the product walls. I quickly noticed that one of her girlfriends almost looked like me!
Champaign and wine were passed around the spa while the aroma of catered cuisine filled the air. I grabbed a glass of whatever and started on my tour of the spa which led me to the manicure station.
My goodness, this place was fabulous.
The area dripped with luxury. Oversized, black leather, chairs lined the walls. Each was fitted with its own wooden manicure table and pedicure bath. Fancy gold saucers hung from the gray wall, casting a golden light across the room.
This wasn’t a normal nail salon. It was a Manicure Mecca.
Lucky me, I was invited to take a seat and enjoy a complimentary polish change. But fortunately, Yoly, my manicurist, saw that I need much more. She gave me a full mani at no charge!
In honor of the event, I painted my nails the only color that mattered that night. Red.
So, of course I’ll be headed to the Red Door Spa once month. This place has me written all over it!
[Editors Note: I took plenty of pictures that night. But somehow, I misplaced my memory card. To complete this post, I snatched a few images from my iPhone and the Red Door Spa Pinterest account. When I find this elusive memory card, I’ll replace their images for my own.]
